Nalgonda Moves Ahead with 15 MW Solar Village Initiative

In a major push toward sustainable energy, three villages in Nalgonda district are being developed as Model Solar Villages to promote efficient and renewable power usage. Anumula and Kangal Mudigonda villages have been selected for development, while Kondareddypalli has already been transformed into a model solar village. The project also extends to villages in Kodangal and Bonakal mandals. With an estimated investment of ₹97.39 crore, solar power plants with a combined capacity of 15 MW will be established, benefiting 1,644 agricultural electricity consumers and 1,251 other consumers through the installation of solar panels.

During a review meeting at the Nalgonda Circle Office, Southern Telangana Power Distribution Company Limited CMD Musharraf Faruqui and Telangana State Renewable Energy Development Corporation Vice Chairperson & Managing Director V Anila provided guidelines to officials for implementing the program effectively. Later, a special awareness meeting was conducted in Anumula village under the leadership of Jaiveer Reddy, MLA of Nagarjuna Sagar constituency, highlighting the importance of solar energy production and its long-term benefits. Senior officials and public representatives also participated in the event, reinforcing the government’s commitment to expanding renewable energy infrastructure in the region.
